Why consider MBBS abroad

Make an Informed Decision About Your Medical Future

Studying medicine abroad gives students access to a wider choice of medical universities and international learning environments. For many families it is a serious option alongside MBBS in India.

Choosing the right country and university needs careful thought about admission requirements, recognition and licensing rules, course structure, tuition, living costs and student life. We help you weigh these factors and move through the admission process with confidence.

Before you choose

Practising in India After Studying Abroad

If you plan to practise medicine in India, your foreign medical course needs to meet the National Medical Commission’s requirements. Under the NMC Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations, 2021, the key conditions include:

  • Qualifying NEET-UG before taking admission abroad
  • A course of at least 54 months, plus an internship of at least 12 months at the same foreign institution
  • The entire course taught in English
  • Study of the subjects prescribed by the regulations
  • Eligibility to register as a medical practitioner in the country where you studied
  • Clearing the licensing examination prescribed in India, followed by any supervised internship required

Important: These rules are summarised for general guidance only. Regulations and their interpretation can change, so always check the latest official NMC notifications for the specific university and programme before you apply.
